APAC nations currently have submarine programs on the top of their naval agendas. Regional navies want to upgrade existing and procure new submarines for two key reasons:
With India, Australia, Japan, South Korea leading the race for submarine procurement, new kids on the block like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam have joined the bandwagon and have already, or are currently, in the process of granting contracts to acquire submarine platforms.
According to leading defence market analyst Jane’s, the ASW market in APAC could grow from an estimated US$4.27 – US$7.4 billion from 2009 to 2015 – a 73% rise in a short span of six years.
Underwater Battlespace APAC will be the first comprehensive event focusing on the Asia Pacific region covering the latest technologies, operational requirements and will look at the integrated submarine platform through a number of case studies and technical presentations. It will be THE 2010 platform to network with the stakeholders from Defence and industry from the region and beyond.
Underwater Battlespace APAC is a unique and must attend event for those interested in submarine and underwater defence capabilities. It has an excellent speaker line up with a wide range of topics covered for both naval and civil defence forces. As a guest speaker at the conference myself, I would strongly urge you to attend Defence IQ Asia’s launch conference as I believe you will greatly benefit from your participation.
